Description
From Lunar and Planetary Institute, the K-T boundary globe map illustrates the separation of the age of reptiles and the age of mammals. This was first recognized over one hundred years ago by geologists who realized that there was a dramatic change in the types of fossils deposited on either side of this boundary. This boundary also separates two of the three eras of the Phanerozoic.
